“I did use Osiris for the Mac in its previous re-incarnation, and was a bit disillusioned that the Mac versions were not kept going.
However I was extremely excited to see that a version for Mac OS X was out and was very eager to try it. My expectations were highly fulfilled, even though it was only a 0.11 alpha version. The promises were there and the working features were already very interesting, making me even more eager for the arrival of the newer promised versions.

Maybe now, with OsiriX, they will open their eyes and minds. Having done teleradiology on Macs since the late 1980's, it has been extremely frustrating to finally be forced to go with PC's for my group when our hospital went with GE's Centricity product. Windows still crashes far too often. We frequently get outside studies in for comparison/referral, and about a third of the time, the GE software will not allow me to look at the scan done on a competitor's system. “This is the greatest piece of free software I ever experienced. I use Osirix to view mrt-images on my powerbook. On a G4 1MHz Osirix is extremely fast and reliable. It has the look and feel of a "pocket-mrt" and It outperforms by far the windows based dicom viewer which comes with the cd's which my radiologist burns on his GE MRT. Thank You”

“In my Opinion OsiriX is a really great Software. Comfortable usage. Most important features wanted from a great workplace are realized. Options as known from Siemen´s "SYNGO"-Workstations work really good. But I think even with newest improvements in OsiriX the Siemens-Standart ist reached. I am using this Software all day (especially in cardio-cta) and except little problems it´s doing its job very well. I think Siemens Software is a good one that schould be copied -- and You´re very close... So please go on!”

Osirix is used to view dicom CDs by my interventional cardiologists on their powerbooks when they are travelling. I look forward to the day when Osirix will replace Philip's MXview software for both cardiac and peripheral CT studies.

OsiriX will be integrated on the interventional radiology site in a PACS system (GE) which is about to be installed.
Like me, there is a critical mass of physicians out there who hate Microsoft, but don't have a lot of choices. I spent a month on the internet searching for a Mac DICOM work station program, and i LOVE OSIRIX!

This is by far the most awesome app for OS X I have ever seen. We integrate OsiriX with SPM2 as the visualization tool of choice. I appreciate all the hard work of you and your team
I'm a medical researcher with a neck problem. I asked for my scan data and I have been bringing my powerbook with me to specialist appointments and going through my cervical MRI and CT scans with them in real time whilst looking at the radiologist's reports. I met with the radiologist and neurosurgeon two weeks ago and they were really impressed. This software is better than many of the commercial *nix packages used in the hospital.
It is THE DICOM-viewer all MacUsers expected for ! Thanks, it's really beautiful and very easy to use.
Thanks this think rocks, the silly folks in the radiology office who minted the PACS imgae CD for me told me that it was not mac compatible, in fact they print that on the CD. Naturally I laughed and told them it would take me less than 5 minutes to have something on my machine up and running the images. Silly PC folks, they have no idea how powerful a mac is; and thank you for developing the program.
Open source and free! clearly cheaper the cash we just layed out for 5 vitrea workstations! keep up the great work!

I have met a number of people during this year which were absolutely convinced of OsirisX to be the best free DICOM workstation they have ever seen. That alone should make everyone curious!
Nuclear Medicine viewers provide necessary capabilities not seen in standard PACS systems. LUTs are different and MIP and 3-axis viewing are "musts" for nukes. OsiriX provides a new and powerful link for networks having nuc med cameras. The DICOM capabilities are very good. In a world where basic nuke PACS starts at $5000 per each software package for each computer, installing multiple OsiriX systems in a network and throughout a system is very advantageous. Nuclear Medicine desires wider usage and "spreading the word" by installing Nuke PACS at a great price point (Mac and monitor) is a great breakthrough.
I use it for transfer from thosiba aplio to mac. its great. technicans from toshiba were surprised!

I were so impressed by OsiriX, that after get advice of a friend of mine, Mac guru and Radiologist and tried it on a G4, I've purchased a G5 top configuration with 8MB RAM and two panoramic 30" screens. After struggling for years with the GE Advantage Windows and end up making the most of processing in an AMD using Linux and Open Source, I've decided instead of buy the new GE AW, to get a G5 and see what happens.
I'm just a medical student who's interested in neurosurgery. I go to NS grand rounds regularly, and they seem to use your program exclusively for giving their presentations. It's a fantastic program, thanks!!

Not only the best Mac Workstation software but possibly the best Workstation software period. Extremely polished interface, nice unexpected iPod integration (which I have found handy, by the way), surprisingly good 3D renderings, etc. A lot of work has gone into this application and it is very welcome to the Macintosh.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I have been doing cardiac surgery for a while and your cines are absolutely outstanding. It is almost as if I were seeing them. Congratualtions.
As we use PACS as the radiological standard in our hospital, as you might know, it really is incredible for me to work with the x-rays at home on my G5 iMac in an almost better way than on most of our workstations at the hospital by using this great program. And, last but not least, Osirix is an outstanding OS X App., combining all the benefits and advantages a program for a mac can provide, copared to the average Windows App. As Steve Jobs would have said if he would have presented it at yesterday's keynote: " It's just awsome, boom and you have all you want. Incredible."
